Let's Talk About Sophie Fortier Photography
I want to introduce you to one of the most fabulous Ottawa photographer's that I've ever met, Sophie Fortier. This bombshell of a human being is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. She puts her heart and soul into her work and her clients can 100% tell. In case you've never seen my Instagram, here she is! Half of my photos are from her. Her two loves are weddings and branding! Ottawa has a pretty serious lack of good branding photography, so she is a rare find.

MAN, I don't even know where to start. This lady is a tequila-loving, friendly, fun-loving, adventure-prone, wild card that I just adore. I can go on about her for hours, so I'll try and keep this relatively brief.
I met Sophie on the same wild adventure that brought me to LW Imaging (linked in case you don't remember). To summarize; I was contacted by two photographers, who were complete strangers to me, to drive into the middle-of-nowhere and do a wedding photo shoot. I ignored all of the good teachings that my mother instilled in me by getting into a stranger's car. However, it turned out well so it's all good!
Anyway, after a great beginning, Sophie and I quickly fell in friendship-love. She won me over with how she's unapologetically herself. Her energy and passion is infectious, I knew I needed more of her in my life. Later down the road, I was lucky enough to have her capture my engagement photos!
Just as a little background, I've always hated photos of myself. I struggled with confidence for a long time and wouldn't let anyone take pictures of me. There have been a few good ones over the years that I didn't mind, but these were the first that I loved.
Sophie came prepared with little prompts and instructions for us while we shot. She made us laugh and captured who we really are. I was blown away. I had never loved a photo of myself before, but here we are. I cannot wait for the day Sophie captures our wedding (2022) because I know she'll get that real and beautiful emotion in each photo.
Fast forward to just a few months ago, I decided to finally take the leap and invest into myself. I had a chat with Sophie and signed for her year-long branding package. This time, we went into Hair Junkie and she captured in me in natural habitat. I use these photos for my website and social media profiles. They help me to show my clients and followers who I am and why I love what I do.
Now, you can't tell from the pictures, but moments before we starting shooting I was terrified. I'm still far from comfortable in front of a camera. Like I said though, Sophie just has a way to make you feel so darn comfortable around her.
